Formula 1

This past Sunday we enjoyed our evening at the Yar Marina Circiut at the Formula One Championship race. It was soo exhilirating. You can not believe the energy and excitement that overcomes you just being there. The cars are louder than you could ever imagine. They gave us some ear plugs that did help some, but we could not carry any type of conversation during the race. We had perfect seats that were right at the start and finish lines. On top of that we looked right onto the pit area, so we saw all of the action. The race track was beautiful and passed by a marina that had larger than life yaghts parkes along side the track with people watching from them. The track also ran through the Yas Hotel. The Yas Island were all of this took place and were the new indoor Ferrari World lives is only about 15 minutes drive from our house. Due to the masses of people coming to this event, we had to drive in the opposite direction to catch a shuttle bus to bring us there. It took about one hour just to get there. The race was hard to follow because we could not hear the commentator over the car noise and the screnes were difficult to read. It was pretty neat to see the cars pit and change tires. It would only take them 5-7 seconds to change all four tires. After the race was over we walked to the arena to watch Prince. He put on a pretty good show, but we didn't stay until the end. I wanted to hear Purple Rain, but opted to beat the crowd out instead. Plus we had been gone all after noon and I wanted to go home to see about the girls. By the way they did great. My Emirate neighbors had Evelyn over to play part of the time the sitter was here. Everything went great. We will definately be back to see the race next year and this time I am going to try to follow the races leading up to the final.
